Looking For A WP Membership Plugin That Doesn’t Suck?

WP Membership Plugin - Wishlist Member

I’m fresh from creating a WP Membership plugin based website using a combination of Optimizepress, and Wishlist Member. Truth be told, I bought Wishlist Member some time ago now, but have been waiting for the right project to come along – and it has. Finally.

But… at the end of the day, why exactly is it that I chose to use Wishlist Member over a ton of other WP membership plugins?

Simple. I don’t like to create what I refer to as “wham bam” membership sites, where a customer pays for their membership, and are dumped a ton of content for them to get confused by.

No, I prefer to drip feed content and leverage the new relationship – release one piece of content at a time, so that my members can get through it at their own pace. Not just that, but I like this all to be backed up by an Autoresponder, such as Aweber, that notifies them as new content is being added, and helps me further build on that relationship and keep it fresh.

Dont Forget Why You Do This Stuff.

It’s natural to work your butt off if the results are worth the time spent on the task. We all do it, whether it is working from home, running your own business, or working for someone else. We all work hard to get an end result, and that’s cool.

So, if I think back to why it is that we create businesses, and/or the ability to be able to work from somewhere of our own choosing, be it our home, the local cafe, or our own office building… does it not defeat the purpose of going our own way in the world if we do nothing but work 18 hour days, only to sleep for 6, get up rinse and repeat 7 days of the week?

There And Back Again – An Internet Marketers Tale…

Insurance Sales

Three days ago, I resigned from a job that I accepted working for a large insurance company here in Melbourne, Australia. It didn’t feel good. It should have, but I didn’t enjoy it like most of you surely would. Not one bit.

The reason that it felt bad was because through my own mind, and the path that I had planned for myself, I truly believed that the idea of taking up part time work three months ago was not just the best thing for me, but the best possible thing for my own business.

With the extra cash, I could hire an article writer or two, I could pay for extra accounts that I needed and other memberships that I wanted. I could make use of several of the paid services that I have been wanting to use for some time. Money, at the time, meant that I could take my business to the next level, even with me involved in it 70% or so less.

What Mt Everest Has Taught Us About Internet Marketing

Mount Everest, Nepal

I’m in the process of quitting cigarettes finally! So, I’ve been quitting with the aid of some medication to ease cravings and withdrawls, however the side effects have been downright brutal, withdrawls were immense, I actually ended up bedridden for two days with a combination of traditional withdrawl symptoms, plus a few others that I wont bore you with. So… with me being my grumpy self (not a pretty sight, I can assure you!), I ended up watching some Mt Everest documentaries to keep me occupied and calm.

Now… for those of you who dont know me personally (which I assume is many of you!), I have had this uncanny love afair with mountains since I was a little boy. I have climbed nearly every notable peak in the lower half of Australia, plus have trekked a large portion of the Tasmanian Wilderness, which is both nightmarish and incredible at the same time.

How Important Is Conversion Optimization To You?

website conversion

One of the long lasting battles about selling websites involves how to build them up. Adding value. Income. Consistency. And more. Of those, the art of simply getting people to buy is at the top of most peoples list, and yours I am sure. This all depends on your method of monetization of course, if you are into the AdSense game, then chances are this is not going to entirely relate to you. However, if you are looking to make an income through affiliate referrals, leads, and so on, this will apply to you.

Final Rant Of 2010 – About Internet Marketing & Business…

Your First 50$

Do you remember the first 50$ that you made online. I’m not talking about selling websites, I am talking about making money from a website, your infant business. How awesome was it? I spoke briefly about this in my last post, so I will give you the run down right now. Here’s how it went.

I signed on to my computer, it was a VERY hot day in Melbourne – much like today actually, its just hit 42 degrees C – and I was not in a good mood – but I am today though! Apart from…
