How To Generate High Quality One Way Backlinks The Right Way

I used to be as unorganized as they come with my one way backlinks. No joke, I had no idea what I was doing, I had no idea where to get them, how to record them, or (as laughable as it is to me now) what their effect was on how well I ranked my pages.

This really is elementary stuff ladies and gents, so I really hope that you are listening in. The way that you generate links will have a drastic effect on how well you rank. This is no laughing matter, it is a make or break situation, and one that can be the difference between an income and no income.

Trust me when I say that. I’ve lost and gained before, and it sucks big time.

What I am going to talk to you about today is a plan that is diverse, and promotes a natural link structure to your websites and blogs. Plain and simple.

First things first, in every single one way backlinks building campaign, you are going to need to enlist the help of certain services. Services like Article Marketing Automation (sign up for an account here) provide a high quality source of one way backlinks that you can generate by submitting content to their network.

In fact, I’d go so far as saying that if you want to actually compete in the search engines, it is going to be quite hard without such services. It is having said that that I highly recommend that you sign up for an account with Article Marketing Automation.

This results in a steady flow of links to your blog or website, that both appears natural and occurs over time – a dream for link builders to say the least.

That said, many people focus on just the one method to generate one way backlinks. This is a serious no-no. The reason that I say this, especially in the current search climate where social is making a big impact, is because Google is getting smart. Google can tell the difference between a link from a blog, and a link from a static website. If all of your links show up as links from the body of a blog (which Article Marketing Automation specializes in), then there is going to be a good chance that Google is going to spot that, and well… lets just say the results will take a little to crawl back from.

It is with this in mind that I highly recommend diversifying your efforts. Actually, I dont just recommend it, I’m stating it this way – it is a must. Anything less will not set you up for good results in the future.

Luckily for you, there are a handful of pretty simple ways to generate some more diverse one way backlinks. Here are just a few.

Advanced Blog Commenting

You’re probably not aware of this (not many people that I teach are!), but Google has a great in built function in search that allows people to really narrow down their search results in ways that many people never thought possible.

These search strings can literally allow you to search for a blog in a certain niche that has comments open. You can even use search strings to look for .gov and .edu opportunities for one way backlinks through blog commenting.

Take this fancy little string as an example:

inurl:edu “leave a comment” -”comments closed” -”you must be logged in to comment”

This string will search for .edu websites that have open comments, and strip out all results that have closed comments.

Pretty powerful, right? Get creative with this, and you will be able to find some of the highest quality opportunities for one way backlinks. I know – I use this method on a day to day basis. :)

Directory Submission One Way Backlinks

Please, don’t do this manually! It is an utter waste of time, and although the benefits are there, there is no benefit to doing 24 hours of work straight when you can pay someone else a few dollars to get the job done.

What is Directory Submission? Its a low quality source of one way backlinks that, in all honesty, really does nothing to boost how high you rank. No, but it does something far more important. It balances out your links with lower value links, which is the most important and most vital part of any single SEO or link building campaign.

If you have been doing quite a bit of link building using Article Marketing Automation, then I’d say its time that you diversify your links, otherwise your growing number of two dimensional one way backlinks may have an adverse affect on your rankings.

Over time, I have tested a good handful of directory submission services, and have always found that in terms of quality and natural delivery of links, the service that comes out on top is Directory Maximizer.

Content Distribution

Get One Way Backlinks with AMAAs mentioned earlier in this piece, distributing your content over the web is an extremely powerful way to generate one way backlinks. It is extremely hard to compete without means such as this.

This is why I exclusively use Article Marketing Automation to rank for some seriously high competition phrases. It is a small investment per month, but if you are targeting the right phrases, and doing the right on page and conversion optimization, it will be an investment that pays itself off very quickly.

So, Where Should I Start?

When I first started out online, I was super scared of having to pay for services. I am still to this day a bit iffy when it comes to new services, but when I really dig my heels in and learn how to best utilize the service itself, it is only then that I get the result that I want.

That said, I never got results by sitting around thinking about them. I only ever got to where I am today by learning, taking action, and implementing.

Don’t trust my word? That’s ok, just remember how you found this page in the first place, and ask yourself how I managed to do that? :)

In any case, if you are serious about generating high quality one way backlinks, and moving above your competition in the search engines, I recommend that you start with Article Marketing Automation, and scale up your efforts as required from there.

  1. Wow – I am still so brand new to internet marketing – this is a valuable tip. I have no idea about the search operator strings – where do you find this stuff?? Very helpful – thank you!! PayPal's on its way. (OK, not really, but I'm very thankful for your tip!)

  2. Thanks Jaques, a lot of this is just through experience, and just the amount of learning that I do. The strings are very handy though, that one is on the house. :)

Hey, can you tell me how to effectively search websites which have the same niche as ours, complete with the PR info? thanks and regards.

    • Absolutely – if you use the same method as I mention above to search for blogs, combine this with using a plugin for Firefox called “Search Status”, and you should be able to get an indication of which pages have higher PR and so on and so forth.

You can also use Market Samurai to scope out backlink opportunities as well. You can get a free trial at http://www.ryantmalone.com/MS

  6. I think we sometimes place too much value on backlinks altogether. First, a year from now where might our best links be? The sites might be down! One website rarely needs more than a few relevant links to appear on the first two pages of Google if the content is good. Networking using the power of social media to virally spread your URL is better – imagine a video linking to your URL having ten million views? That is much more powerful marketing than even Google search provides! Getting people the world over to buzz about you, your website, and your products is the key – believe me, I am an SEO fanatic but there are other means of promotion! Downloads like pdf files and audio can bring a ton of visitors too, as can building an email list of avid fans. It’s all go :)

Question, I’ve considered teaming up with a couple of IM’ers to trade and share resources and I’m curious, why doesn’t it happen more often?

I’m a multiple offline business owner and I started a marketing company to do my own marketing, I buy tools to promote my offline companies and use some IM methods also. Which leads me to my point, I have tons of plr and mrr that I’ve used for offline stuff, and quite a few monthly fees that I pay for some online tools and I’m tired of always looking for the next big thing to automate tasks or speed them up. So, I’d like to find a couple of IM guys that are interested in sharing resources or doing some trading. I just want good honest resources of information that I can trust, not an easy thing to find these days and that’s why I prefer to stick with offline sources of income mostly. If anyone is interested let me know.

    • This is something that I have been considering working on for some time now, that said.. it almost sounds like you could benefit from a Mastermind group. It might be worthwhile looking into getting involved in a mastermind group if you are looking to get people together, share resources, and so on. I’ve even known people to share accounts with link building services as well.

  9. Tyler says:

What do you think about thetrafficbrain.com from howie? Is that a system that will do more harm than good to our sites?

    • Hi Tyler,

By rule of thumb, if anything promotes that it will do the job by clicking the mouse 2/3/4 times, I will avoid it.

Not just that, but with the changes to search at the moment, very few people can predict methods that will actually work now and in the future.

That said, the method that I initially learned was The SEO Method by David Jenyns. I work fairly closely with him, and can vouch for him when I say that his method is much more reliable than any other that I have seen, and it has really helped me get my edge, especially facing what Google is throwing at us at the moment.

I’d recommend that you check it out first at http://www.ryantmalone.com/theseomethod

Blog commenting is a great way to build backlinks. Find the top blogs in your market niche and make a comment with a link back to your site. Make sure the comment has some value, (reading the blog does help!) as the webmaster may well remove it if it looks like an automated comment.

That’s a great tip for google search to pin down exactly what you’re looking for from a blog, will save some time for sure!

  12. Mario A. says:

Getting (back links) to your site is not an easy task, but by leaving honest comments in other peoples
blogs/websites will help you in the long run.

    • It’s all about Interaction. I spend a fair amount of time just browsing and associating with people on blogs, social media, and so on. So what if the links aren’t that powerful, it’s all about diversity in links, plus you get to network a little too. ;)
