When creating any website, there are a few simple guidelines that you simply must follow to be able to launch a high value venture. Whether this be simple things such as how to earn high value one way backlinks, or even how to pick the right keywords.

Keyword research is a huge part of creating a successful website or online business. If you can not rank, then you need to go back to the drawing board. For this purpose, I use Market Samurai to research the winnability of the keywords that I would like to rank for, investigate where my competition is getting their backlinks from, and I greate a highly targeted and effective SEO campaign from the data that I pull from the program.

2. Build Up Your Site On The Perfect Platform
I use WordPress for everything by choice. I am a fan of simplicity, thus, I choose not to go for the more complex platforms such as Joomla and Drupal. WordPress is highly customisable, and is supported by literally millions of themes that have been created by the WordPress community.
In particular, there are two places that I go to for themes. The first is WooThemes. This group works with WordPress, in particular on their 3.0 release, and have a large selection of some of the best looking themes I have ever seen. Their themes also have great SEO functionality as well, and are heavily customisable.
I also use Thesis on a regular basis, which is a very solid framework for WordPress that offers a huge amour of customisability, plus superior SEO functions as well. Skins are available separately for Thesis, however in most cases, they are not needed as customisation is just that easy from the admin area.
3. Create Killer Content!
Creating content should be a massive part of what we do every single day, however, the most websites that we manage, the harder it is to create fresh content every single day. It is with this in mind that I recommend using Need An Article. I used them for some time when it came to content creation for distribution to article directories, and for some of my other affiliate websites. Articles are very cost effective, and of the higher quality that I have seen, at rates that would be equivalent to having your own outsourced article writer.

4. Content Distribution And Backlink Generation
I use a ton of services for this. In fact, there is no end to the arsenal that I use to rank sites from specific niches, however the one that I recommend to everyone right of the bat, every single time, is Article Marketing Automation. This is a service that will submit spun articles to a variety of blogs located within their blog network, that results in a slow drip feed of links to your website or targeted post. As articles are spun, this means that content is unique every time, and looks absolutely natural as well. Typically, I can see anywhere from 70 – 200 or so backlinks from one submitted article, understandably, the power of this service is simply massive.

Using all of the above, one of the most important values that you can ever have is the ability to create a process that is repeatable.
