Some time ago, I wrote an honest account of The SEO Method by David Jenyns, only a few months after learning the method. To be honest, it was a bit premature, being only a few months on from when I first received the method itself and was able to digest parts of it piece by piece and test accordingly. The bottom line is that after only two months of testing, there is only really so much that can be said. True, I know that the post date of that post is also only not long ago, however, if you want to see why, then you can go ahead and read my Posterous, that has a full explanation of what went wrong with the blog very recently.
The truth of the matter is that I first received my copy of The SEO Method back in December 2009, and have been working on perfecting my own method of SEO since then. Of course, I have even had the opportunity to be one of the first people to get my hands on a copy of the Melbourne SEO Services Workshop DVD’s, being a guest at the workshop, I only just received these DVD’s, which also contain the soon to be legendary, “The SEO Method 2.0” (the DVD’s are now available exclusively from this link).
That’s Great Ryan… What Have You Learned?
Truth be told, since I wrote The SEO Method review, there have been a lot of reviews coming out of the woodworks, and the majority of them are word for word copies of each other (minus a few that are actually good), just for the sake of selling a few copies and earning the affiliate commission. This is not how I am going to handle it. In fact, I don’t really care if you go ahead and buy it or not. Instead, I am going to detail in part, my journey into becoming an SEO Expert (and a Flippa Broker to boot!…. wait… that was completely backwards… :/ )
Lets Go Back To December 2009
At this point (my turning point to be precise), I had a time value of 0. I was getting a lot done, but I was getting the wrong tasks done. (Note to self – Are you working on the right task right now?) Don’t get me wrong, I was ranking one of my blogs on page #1 for a competitive keyword, and that was great! But, I couldn’t rank higher than third, and as we all know, the total difference in traffic between those positions is insane.
So, I got my copy of The SEO Method (it’s a long story, ask me sometime!), and sat through the course. It was great! I now knew what it took to rank my site #1! I was an SEO god! However, the one thing that it didn’t teach (that no method can ever teach mind you…) is how to execute it effectively based on my business model. You see, this is something that is up to you and your business model, it is as simple as that, and your success is dependent on how well you model this into your own business. And this is where my major development came from. Defining what it is that I do, what area I want to focus on, and how I am going to rank over time. That is key.
So, It’s All About Time Management, Right?
Not entirely… its about knowing where to rank, why to rank, how to rank, and how to execute a process designed to rank your page. Its about keeping track of what you are doing, where you are up to, in your own process, and how to continue getting that job done. It is also about developing a process that is repeatable, as you will more than likely need to repeat the job time and time again in order to keep your #1 spot (you have, and always will have competition!).
In a nutshell, I can tell anyone on the planet what my favorite method of ranking a website or page is, but it is not going to matter a damn if you cant handle your time efficiently, and if you don’t test the services first to know and understand which ones work best within your niche, and most importantly, within your business model. The SEO Method was my stepping stone to achieving this goal. Not just learning SEO, but learning to dominate.
So, Where Am I Now?
Right now, apart from writing the next part to The SEO Method Review, I am in the midst of a project that I am working on with David Jenyns, and at the same time, I am able to rank my websites for keywords that matter, keywords that have potential, whether it is monetary/conversion value, or just an ego keyword. Am I dominating? My inbox says that I am doing a pretty good job so far, the same as my time value which has increased significantly. In fact (now I don’t like talking income), since December, my Clickbank balance has increased, I have broken through the dreaded ClickBank CDR (Customer Distribution Requirement), which makes me one in 10 people to actually achieve that goal, and I also happen to rank on page #1 for a set of highly targeted, hand picked keywords that are both putting food on the table, and identifying me as an expert in my niche. I’m certainly not earning thousands a month, but I am earning enough to put food on the table. Everything from here is up to me, the same as it is up to you.
Is The SEO Method To Blame For My Success?
I could easily say yes, but I am going to hold off and let you make up your mind. Yes, it was my kickstart, and was my turning point. Undoubtedly, if I never learned the method, I would not be where I am today. However, the part that turned me from being someone with knowledge to someone who has the skills to succeed was in defining the very method of attack that suited my own business model. This is something that came through raw trial and error. SEO can be taught, but a business model can not. The SEO Method teaches you the skills, and what will help you rank, however, trial and error will ultimately teach you what methods work best for your business.
Should You Purchase The SEO Method?
I will answer this by talking about where I was and where I am today.
To summarize who and what I was at the end of 2009:
- I was not earning a cent online.
- I knew what I was talking about, but I couldn’t execute.
- I was hanging around the webmaster forums 24/7 for help and advice.
- The only e-book that I purchased was from Digital Point, and it was mainly black hat.
To summarize who and what I was in February 2010:
- I was earning something online, but not much.
- I had a head full of knowledge, but didn’t have the skills to execute properly.
- I was no longer hanging around the forums for help and advice, rather using that time to test my own skills.
- I was learning from every single person and mentor I could find.
To summarize where I am now:
- I am an upcoming authority within my niche.
- I make good money online (enough to put food on the table and spoil those I love).
- I am now a Mac user (I had to throw that one out there… :p).
- I am about to launch one of the biggest info products of the year.
Now, forget the last two sets of points. If you relate more to the first set of points, then this method will help you. Now, looking at the second and third set of points, if this is where you want to be, then this method is also going to be for you, however, you are going to need to learn how to execute the whole process depending on your business model. This will take some time, however, as always, the first step is always going to be the hardest. When I received my copy of The SEO Method, well before writing this review for you today, I was very skeptical. I am sure you are too, however, my instinct paid off, as I am sure yours will too.
So, to put it simply, if you are ready to learn how to rank #1 in the search engines, then click below and grab your copy now.

Ryan thanks for sharing this. It sounded like you had a good experience with this product. I thought about it for a bit mainly because I thought I knew everything I needed to know about SEO, but ended up buying my own copy anyway, and it really taught me lots about how to rank my website that I never really knew. I am now starting to get more traffic to my site for some real good keywords, and am surprised about how much I actually did not know.
Thanks for the recommendation, I will be passing this on to a few friends of mine.
Ian.
